As members were conducting annual parade cleanup, West Lake and MPS were dispatched for a motorcycle accident at West 12th Street at Marshall Drive.
Chief 480 arrived on location immediately upon Dispatch and reported a van versus motorcycle, with one person trapped under the vehicle.
Engine 483 responded upon Dispatch. Chief 480 requested Truck 487 to clear the scene of another emergency for the airbags.
Engine 483 arrived on location and crew members immediately tended patient care, setting up cribbing and positioned the hurst tools in place.
Engine 482 was requested to the scene. Truck 487 arrived on location and crew members placed the airbags in service for the second time in two days and assisted with patient care.
The patient was extricated from the under vehicle in six (6) minutes. Paramedics from Millcreek Paramedic Service with assistance from West Lake personnel packaged the patient and loaded for transport to the trauma center.
All units remained on scene for several hours to assist Millcreek Police Department in their investigation.
