On May 6, 2021, West Lake along with Erie Fire Department, US Coast Guard and Erie Police responded to the Lampe Marina area for a Water Rescue. Boat 497 responded, and assisted with the recovery of a body in the water. Unfortunatley, that body was of a missing Erie man, who was missing for over a month.
